Reviewers for The Designed Edge are asked to do a specific job, and to be named for having done it.
What we ask
Read the article against its own claims. Does the stated question match what was actually examined? Is the search reproducible from what is written? Are the eligibility criteria applied consistently? Is the certainty language proportionate to the evidence? Does the clinical interpretation travel further than the data supports?
What we do not ask
We do not ask reviewers to copy-edit, to defend a house position, or to soften a conclusion that the evidence supports. Disagreement with the editor is a useful outcome, not a problem.
Attribution
Review is signed. Your name, credentials, discipline, affiliations, and disclosed conflicts appear on the article you reviewed and on Editorial Board. If you would prefer not to be named, we will still value the reading — but the article cannot then be labelled peer reviewed.
Conflicts
Decline any article where you hold a commercial or academic interest that a reader would want to know about. Disclose anything borderline and let the editor decide.
